our mission...
is to bring evidence based medicine to the equine industry but in
particular Horse owners. We will
focus on non-invasive products that assist in extending the
competitive life and optimise the performance of horses involved in
equine sports activities e.g: Dressage, show jumping, racing etc.
Owners are often at a disadvantage when trying to assess their horse's
wellbeing and soundness. A slight alteration in gait or performance can be
nothing at all or it can be the start of a terminal problem. The
difficulty facing the owner/rider is What to do next? Should the vet/farrier/saddler/
physio be called? Is this over reaction? What will the insurance company
say and will they then start applying exclusions even though nothing was found?
Gait analysis will not impact on your equine insurance.
Obviously if a definite clinical condition is found and claimed for then this is
an insurance issue but if the horse is being monitored and minor alterations
made to farriery or some other aspect of his care, this is not an insurance
issue.
EquiStep can analyse the horse's movement to pinpoint step length differences,
in addition to biomechanical analysis of the whole horse to either help
diagnose problems or potential problems at a very early stage or concisely
monitor recovery from injury.
Independent veterinary or farriery consultation is available at modest additional cost.
All information will
be presented to the client on a cd, with a brief written report if required. All screenings are confidential between the Client and EquiStep.
